Biblical Answer

As I reflect on the question, "Can I still have a future when my past is gone?" I'm reminded of the importance of living in the present and not dwelling on past regrets. As a pastor, I've seen many people get stuck in their past, unable to move forward due to guilt, shame, or disappointment. But I believe that with God's help, we can overcome our past and have a bright future.

It's interesting to consider the idea that our past is gone, and we can't undo it. But, as the passage suggests, we can take advantage of our past experiences and learn from them. We can identify past problems that could have destroyed us, but didn't, and reflect on how God helped us through those tough times. This helps us to appreciate the present and plan for the future with hope and confidence. As I think about my own life, I'm grateful for the challenges I've faced and how they've shaped me into the person I am today.

Ultimately, I believe that our future is not determined by our past, but by our faith in God and our willingness to follow Him. As the passage says, "Today is the most important day in your life. Today counts." Today is a new opportunity to make plans, pray for our dreams, and work towards our life purpose. So, even if our past is gone, we can still have a future filled with hope, promise, and purpose. As I look to the future, I'm excited to see what God has in store for me and my family, including my wife Susan, our children Joshua and Rebecca, and the congregation I pastor.
