Biblical Answer

The Bible teaches that God is sovereign over all creation and that He sustains and governs it. This includes the economy and finances. However, this does not mean that we are not responsible for our financial decisions. We are called to be good stewards of the resources God has given us (Genesis 1:28, Matthew 25:14-30). This includes managing our finances wisely and living within our means.

We should aim to live debt-free and be free from the stress and anxiety that comes with financial struggles. This means being intentional about our spending and making sure we are not overspending or accumulating unnecessary debt.

While the Bible teaches that God is sovereign over our finances, it also teaches that we are responsible for our financial decisions. We should pray for God's guidance and wisdom in managing our finances, but we should also take responsibility for making wise financial decisions. This includes creating a budget, saving for the future, and being generous with our resources. By being good stewards of our finances and living within our means, we can trust God to provide for our needs and give us the resources we need to live a life that honors Him. Ultimately, our financial security comes from trusting in God's sovereignty and provision, not from accumulating wealth or avoiding debt. As the Bible says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7). By trusting in God's sovereignty and provision, we can find peace and security in our finances, even in difficult circumstances.
