What's the point of fighting when it feels like I'm losing?
The battle may feel lost, but it's not because of the external circumstances. The reason we lose is that we fight the battle first in the external world, rather than in God's presence. This is a crucial distinction. When we fight in the external world, we are not in a position to win, because we are not seeking God's guidance and strength. On the other hand, when we fight in God's presence, we are able to tap into His power and wisdom, and we can emerge victorious. This is why the Bible says, "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline" (2 Timothy 1:7).
The battle may feel lost, but it's not because of a lack of faith. Our faith is what gives us the strength to keep fighting, even when the circumstances seem hopeless. When we are struggling, it's easy to feel like giving up, but our faith keeps us going. As the Bible says, "We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope" (Romans 5:3-4). Our faith also gives us the motivation to keep fighting, because we know that we are fighting for what is right. We are fighting for our values, our principles, and our relationship with God. And we know that if we persevere, we will emerge victorious.
The battle may feel lost, but it's not because we are not winning in the external world. We may not be winning in the external world, but we are winning in the spiritual realm. As the Bible says, "We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places" (Ephesians 6:12). Our ultimate goal is not to win in the external world, but to win in the spiritual realm. And we can only win in the spiritual realm by fighting in God's presence, and seeking His guidance and strength. This is why the Bible says, "Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!" (Psalm 46:10). We must be still, and trust in God's power and wisdom, in order to emerge victorious in the spiritual realm.
