Why does God seem so silent in my pain?

The Bible is full of cries of pain and suffering, and the Psalmist often appeals to God to show him the pain and to make God visible to him. This suggests that God's silence is not a sign of His absence or indifference, but rather a call to deeper intimacy and trust. As C. S. Lewis said, "God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world."
