What If I Have to Give Up My Home?

The question of giving up our home can be a challenging one. As the passage from Isaiah reminds us, "I will establish a house for you" (Isaiah 55:5). This verse speaks of a spiritual house, a dwelling place for God's presence in our lives. In the context of our homes, this means that our earthly abodes are not the ultimate reality, but rather a temporary place where we can live out our faith. When we consider giving up our home, we must remember that it is not the house that defines us, but our relationship with God.

As the passage from Psalm 90:6-7 reminds us, "You have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought the Israelites up out of Egypt to this day. I have been moving from place to place with a tent as my dwelling.... The Lord declares to you that the Lord himself will make a house for you."
