Finding Common Ground with Enemies

As Christians, we often face challenges in finding common ground with our enemies. However, the Bible teaches us that we can find common ground with others, even those who oppose us, by recognizing our shared humanity and the universal values that exist between us.

The concept of common ground is not limited to shared values or beliefs, but can also be found in shared experiences and interests. For example, a Christian may share an interest in a particular hobby or activity with someone who does not share their faith. In this sense, common ground can be a starting point for building relationships and finding ways to connect with others, even those who may not share our faith.

However, as Christians, we must also be aware of the spiritual battle that is taking place around us. As the Bible teaches, we are in enemy territory, and our enemies are not just external, but also internal. The Bible teaches us to "put on the armor of God" and to "stand firm against the schemes of the devil" (Ephesians 6:11). This means that we must be aware of the spiritual dynamics at play and seek to find common ground in a way that is consistent with our Christian values and principles. By doing so, we can build bridges with others and share the love of Christ with those who may not yet know Him. Ultimately, finding common ground with our enemies is not just about finding areas of agreement, but about sharing the Gospel and bringing people to a knowledge of the truth. As the Bible teaches, "we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us" (2 Corinthians 5:20). May we seek to find common ground with others in a way that honors God and brings glory to His name.
