The current micro-resurgence of Rule of Life in the Western church is a call to return to a holistic and balanced approach to life. The Rule of Life is a set of practices that help you form your character and become more like Christ. The eighth rule encourages you to do this in community. This means that you should surround yourself with people who will support and encourage you in your spiritual growth. This can be a small group at church, a accountability partner, or a mentor. Having a community of believers around you will help you stay motivated and accountable as you work on becoming more like Christ.
