Biblical Answer

Facing mortality can be a daunting task, especially when it seems like it's still far off. However, as the Bible reminds us, death is a universal experience that affects every person, regardless of their age. In Psalm 90:12, we read, "Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." This verse encourages us to be mindful of our mortality and to live each day with purpose and intentionality.

As Christians, we have a unique perspective on mortality. We believe that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) and that our lives are not our own, but rather a gift from God (1 Corinthians 6:20). As the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 4:16-18, "Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. So, how can we face our mortality when we're still young? First, we must acknowledge that death is a reality that we will all face. Rather than trying to avoid or deny this reality, we can choose to live each day with intention and purpose. We can focus on building a strong relationship with God, cultivating a heart of wisdom, and living a life that reflects our faith. As the Bible says in Psalm 37:4, "Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." By focusing on what truly matters, we can find peace and contentment, even in the face of mortality. Ultimately, our hope is not in our own strength or ability, but in the power and provision of God. As the Bible says in Hebrews 13:6, "So we say with confidence, 'The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?'" By trusting in God's sovereignty and goodness, we can face mortality with courage and hope.
