Why does it feel like God abandoned me?
When we feel like God has abandoned us, it's often because we've made a false assumption about God's nature and our relationship with Him. We may think that God is only present when everything is going smoothly, and when things go wrong, He's not there. However, this is not true. God is always present, even when we don't feel like it. He is the same God who suffered for us, and He doesn't ask us to believe because He's on a divine ego trip, but because He loves us and wants to have a relationship with us.
When we resign ourselves to the thought that God has left us high and dry, it's a sign of unbelieving pessimism. This kind of thinking deeply dishonors our great God and ignores the fact that He is always working, even when we don't see it. We need to seek grace to be ashamed of ourselves and to recognize that our feelings can lie. We must not assume that God is making us jump through unnecessary hoops, but rather, we should focus on seeking His presence and His will for our lives.
When we feel abandoned by God, it's often because we're trapped in a cycle of self-pity and depression. This can be a sign that we're missing the destiny for which God made us. We were made for a relationship with God, and when we're not experiencing that, we're restless and unhappy. We need to break free from bondage to self and focus on seeking God's presence and will for our lives. This means being willing to surrender ourselves to Him, even when things don't make sense. It means trusting that He is always working, even when we don't see it. And it means being open to His love and His presence, even when we don't feel like it. By doing so, we can experience the freedom and joy that comes from living a life that reflects God's love and presence.
