Your Question:
can i still have a sense of trust
Answer:
As I reflect on the concept of trust, I'm reminded that trusting in people can be a fragile thing. We place our trust in others, hoping they'll come through for us, but what if they fail? What if they let us down? This can lead to fear and depression, which can be overwhelming. I've seen this play out in my own life, particularly in my relationships with my children, Joshua and Rebecca. As a parent, I want to trust them implicitly, but I've come to realize that trust is earned, not entitled. As a pastor, I've also seen how people's trust in God can be shaken by uncertainty about what happens after we die. But when we have confidence in our eternal future, it gives us a perspective on living in the present that's laced with confidence. This is what Jesus meant when He said, "According to your faith let it be to you" (Matthew 9:29). It's a reminder that we have a certain amount of control over our trust in God, and that we can choose to trust in Him, even when things don't make sense. For me, trust in God is a daily choice. I've learned to go beyond confidence in myself and others, and to place my trust in Him alone. I've come to see that trust in God is not just about having faith in His blessings, but about having faith in Him Himself. When I truly see God at work, I'm no longer concerned about the things that happen in my life, because I'm trusting in my Father in heaven. This is the kind of trust that gives me peace and confidence, even in the midst of uncertainty.
