Spiritual guidance powered by AI and grounded in Scripture
Your Question:
What do I do when I feel like I'm losing myself in all this?
Answer:
When I feel like I'm losing myself in all this, I try to take a step back and reorient myself spiritually. I recall the nature of the human heart and the fact that I'm constantly interpreting problems with my heart, which is always choosing. I remind myself that I'm not just a blank interior, but a heart that's capable of choosing to live in a way that's tied to the dock, or to break free and explore the great depths of God. I also try to examine where I've become sluggish or lost interest spiritually, and I usually find that it goes back to a point where I didn't do something I knew I should do. I realize that I'm not capable of getting myself out of this mess on my own, and that I need help and power from God. I need to confront my true nature and admit that I'm not like Christ in the deepest recesses of my heart. I'm warped and wounded, and I need God's help to heal and be made whole. In times of crisis, I try to cry out for help and remember that God is sovereign and loving. I remind myself that I don't have to endure on my own, and that God expects me to respond to Him, not just endure. I try to keep the cross close at hand and be on guard against self-pity, grumbling, and complaining. I also try to walk with others who can encourage and support me, and to seek help and guidance from trusted friends and mentors.
