Why did I lose my business?!

It's difficult to pinpoint a single reason for why I lost my business, but based on my experience, I can share a few insights. One reason could be poor financial decisions, which I made early in my ministry. I was ignorant of big business procedures, and my actions almost put Thomas Road Baptist Church and Liberty University out of business. However, God was gracious, and our ministry became stronger because of it.

Another reason for losing a business can be a result of poor management or lack of expertise. This can lead to financial struggles, which can ultimately result in the business closing down. For example, a television venture that began in 1986 was abandoned in mid-1992 after losing $235 million. This kind of financial struggle can be overwhelming, and it may lead to the business losing its ability to operate.

In addition to financial struggles, a business can also lose its way due to moral or ethical issues. This can be due to a lack of integrity, which can lead to price gouging, making inferior products, or planned obsolescence. These kinds of practices can damage the business's reputation and ultimately lead to its downfall. As I reflect on my experience, I realize that my poor financial decisions were a result of my own ignorance and lack of expertise. However, I also see that God was gracious and gave us the victory for which we prayed. This experience taught me the importance of seeking guidance and wisdom in all aspects of life, including business. I now consider everything a loss for the sake of Christ, and I strive to live a life that reflects biblical values and teachings.
