Will we remember our life on earth?

We will remember our life on earth, but our memory will be transformed. In the life to come, we will not be like our current selves, struggling to recall the past due to the effects of sin and time. Instead, we will stand before the Lord as sinless children, united with him for eternity (1 John 3:2). Our memories will not be vague or forgotten, but rather we will have a clear and distinct remembrance of our past (Psalm 138:8). This is not because God will make us forget our past, but rather because we will no longer be held captive by sin and its effects on our memories (Hebrews 8:13).

The Bible teaches us that God views a thousand years as yesterday (Psalm 90:4), and He can remember all the detailed events of a thousand years (2 Peter 3:8). This means that our memories will not be lost or forgotten, but rather they will be preserved and remembered by God. In the life to come, we will not be scratching around in the dark trying to recall our past, but rather we will have a clear and distinct remembrance of our past. This will be a source of joy and thanksgiving, as we remember the things and people we want to remember (Psalm 138:8).

In the life to come, we will not be haunted by memories of our past sins. Instead, we will be able to remember the things and people we want to remember, and we will be able to celebrate our reunion with Jesus as a banquet (Luke 14:15-24). Our memories will not be a source of regret and sorrow, but rather they will be a source of joy and thanksgiving. This is because our memories will be transformed, and we will be able to see our past in the light of God's glory and redemption (Romans 8:18-25). We will be able to remember our life on earth, and we will be able to celebrate our reunion with Jesus, free from the effects of sin and its hold on our memories.
