Embracing a New Normal

As you navigate the complexities of depression, anxiety, and addiction, it's natural to wonder if you'll ever feel "normal" again. The truth is, our experiences shape us, and we may never return to the person we were before. However, this doesn't mean we're stuck in a cycle of suffering. In fact, the Bible encourages us to seek the Lord, to remember what He says about Himself and us, and to trust in His power to transform us (Ps 139:23-24). By embracing this new normal, we can begin to see that our struggles are not a definition of our worth, but rather an opportunity for growth and intimacy with God.

Finding Strength in Jesus

When we look to Jesus, we find strength and change. He doesn't promise to remove our struggles, but rather to be with us in the midst of them (Matt 28:20). As we surrender to Him, we begin to see that our pain has a purpose - to draw us closer to God and to reveal areas where we need to grow (Rom 8:10-12). This doesn't mean we'll never face difficulties again, but we'll face them with a newfound sense of hope and trust. We'll learn to see our struggles as opportunities to grow in faith, to love more deeply, and to become the person God created us to be.

A New Perspective

As we journey through the ups and downs of life, it's essential to remember that our feelings don't define our worth. We are more than our struggles, and we have a purpose that goes beyond our current circumstances. By seeking the Lord, remembering His promises, and trusting in His power, we can find a new perspective on our struggles. We can learn to see them as opportunities for growth, intimacy with God, and transformation. As we walk this path, we'll discover that we're not alone, and that Jesus is with us every step of the way. We'll learn to say, "This is exactly what I needed," and we'll find a new sense of normal that's rooted in our relationship with Him. (2 Cor 4:1618).
