When love is tested, what does it reveals about our true nature?

When love is tested, it reveals whether or not we are truly born again. As John 13:35 says, "By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." In other words, love is the final objective test of our Christian profession. True love, in the sense of self-sacrifice, is not natural to human beings in their fallen state. Its existence in anyone is evidence of new birth and a transformed life. As 1 Corinthians 13:2 says, "If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing." This verse shows that love is the most important thing, and without it, we are nothing, no matter how knowledgeable or gifted we may be.

The way we respond to love tests when they arise reveals whether or not we are truly living a life that reflects Christian values and teachings. When we are tested, do we love others, even when it's difficult or uncomfortable? Do we show kindness, compassion, and empathy towards those around us?
