Biblical Answer

The Bible's descriptions of heaven provide us with a glimpse into the life to come. In Revelation 4-5, we read of four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind. The first creature is like a lion and the second like a calf. The third has a face like a man and the fourth like a flying eagle. These creatures are described as worshiping God and the Lamb, indicating that animals will be present in heaven.

The presence of animals in heaven is also implied in the Bible's descriptions of the new creation. In Revelation 21:1-22:5, we read of a new heaven and a new earth, where there will be no more sea and no more death. The Bible says that God will wipe away every tear from our eyes, and there will be no more crying or pain (Rev. 21:4). This new creation will be inhabited by redeemed humans, but it is also implied that animals will be present. In fact, the Bible says that the redeemed will live in the presence of God, and that God will dwell among them (Rev. 21:3).

The Bible teaches that animals will be present in heaven because of God's sovereign plan and provision. As the Psalmist says, "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing" (Ps. 23:1). God's provision includes the care and redemption of all creation, including animals. In the new creation, there will be no more curse, and God's servants will serve him (Rev. 22:3). This includes the redeemed humans, but also implies that animals will be present and serving God in some way. The Bible teaches that God will make all things new, including the animals that will inhabit the new creation (Rev. 21:5). Therefore, it is reasonable to conclude that animals will be present in heaven, serving God and living in the presence of redeemed humans.
