Biblical Answer

As I reflect on my own life, I've learned that loving myself after failure is crucial. When I'm faced with a setback, I remind myself that I'm not defined by that one failure. I'm a pastor, a husband, and a father, and those roles are not tied to my success or failure in any one area. I've had my share of struggles, but I've learned to look back on past problems that could have destroyed me, but didn't. For instance, when my son Joshua was going through a tough time in school, we worked together to find a solution, and he ended up exceling in his studies.

In moments of failure, I've come to realize that I can find grace from God to love others, even when I'm struggling to love myself. I can thank them, greet them, pray for them, listen to them, and touch them. It's not always easy, but it's a choice I make every day. As I've grown in my faith, I've learned to trust God more and more, even when things don't go as planned. I've come to understand that trusting God is not just a duty, but it's the way I'm designed. When I'm disconnected from my purpose, hopelessness thrives.

When I fail, I remind myself that I will choose to love myself, my family, and my community. I will choose to trust God, even when it's hard. I will choose to focus my eyes on Him, and not on worldly opinion. I will choose to respond to failure with faith, rather than giving up. I will choose to persevere, because I know that it pays off in my character and in heavenly rewards.
