Losing a business can be a challenging experience, but it doesn't have to mean losing your sense of purpose. In fact, it can be an opportunity to re-evaluate what's truly important to you and align it with God's purpose for your life. As a pastor, I've seen many people struggle with feeling lost and without direction after a significant change like this. But the truth is, our purpose is not in our accomplishments or possessions, but in our relationship with God.

When we focus on God's purpose for our lives, we begin to see that it's not about achieving a specific goal, but about living in dependence on Him. It's about trusting in His power and wisdom, even when things seem uncertain or unclear. As the Bible says, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts" (Isaiah 55:8-9). By focusing on Jesus and His purpose for our lives, we can find a sense of direction and purpose, even in the midst of uncertainty.

So, how can you discover God's purpose for your life? Start by confessing your dependence on Him and asking for His guidance. Tell Him that you're willing to let go of your own self-oriented purposes and seek His will. As you do, you'll begin to see that His purpose is not just about achieving a specific goal, but about living a life of faith and dependence on Him. And that's where true purpose and fulfillment come from. As Paul wrote, "I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ" (Philippians 3:8).
