The Mystery of God's Purpose

God's purpose for our lives is a mystery that can be difficult to understand. Sometimes, we may feel that God has taken away our sense of purpose, leaving us feeling lost and uncertain. However, this feeling can be a sign that God is working to take us into His purposes, and we must learn to surrender our understanding of our ways to the Lord. As we grow in the Christian life, we become less inclined to question God's purposes, and instead, we learn to trust in His sovereignty and goodness.

The Sovereignty of God

God's purpose is not limited by our understanding or desires. He has a sovereign plan that is beyond our comprehension, and He may allow suffering and hardship to achieve His purposes. This can be difficult to accept, especially when we feel forsaken or abandoned by God. However, we must remember that God's purpose is not to satisfy our own desires or ambitions, but to enable us to see that He can walk with us through the storms of life. His purpose is to bring us to a state where we please Him, and we must learn to trust in His goodness and sovereignty.

The Call to Surrender

In order to understand God's purpose, we must be willing to surrender our own understanding and desires. This means letting go of our own goals and ambitions and trusting in the Lord's plan. As we surrender to God's purposes, we will begin to see that His purpose is not to satisfy our own desires, but to bring us into a deeper relationship with Him. This requires faith and trust, but it is a necessary step in understanding God's purpose for our lives. As the Bible says, "It is the Lord's purpose that prevails" (Proverbs 19:21). We must learn to trust in His sovereignty and goodness, even when we do not understand His ways. By surrendering to God's purposes, we will find joy and fulfillment in serving Him and doing His will.
