Biblical Answer

The Bible says, "Now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love" (1 Corinthians 13:13). This verse indicates that love is greater than faith and hope. The reason for this is not that love will last forever and the rewards are eternal, but that love is the purpose and goal of faith and hope. Faith and hope are means to an end, and that end is love. In other words, faith and hope are ways of reaching out to God and others, but the ultimate goal is to experience and express love.

Love is not just a feeling, but a choice. It is a choice to put the needs of others before our own, to sacrifice for others, and to show kindness and compassion to those around us. This is why the Bible says that "faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). Faith is a way of reaching out to God and trusting in His promises, but it is also a way of showing love to others. When we have faith, we are able to trust in God's love for us and to express that love to others.

The Bible also says that "we love because He first loved us" (1 John 4:19). This means that our love for others is a result of God's love for us. When we experience God's love, we are able to love others in return. This is why faith and hope are not enough; we need to experience God's love in order to truly love others. As the Bible says, "the greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength" (Mark 12:30). This is the ultimate goal of faith and hope, and it is what makes love the greatest of the three.
