The yearning for community is a natural human desire, and it is possible to have a sense of community even in a stable community where everyone knows each other. However, the Bible presents a different understanding of community, one that is rooted in a shared reality and accountability to the same Lord. Jesus describes his community as one that is built on love and depth, and one that is courageous in its fidelity to orthodoxy. This kind of community is not just a social arrangement, but a spiritual reality that is shaped by the practice of Scripture and the pursuit of spiritual disciplines. In this sense, community is not just a means of fulfilling our individual needs, but a way of becoming like Jesus and reflecting his character in our lives.

As Christians, we are called to be part of a community that is built on the principles of love, humility, and service. This community is not just a social club, but a spiritual family that is united in our faith and commitment to Jesus. Ultimately, the sense of community that we experience in this life is a reflection of the community that we will experience in eternity, where we will be united with God and with each other in perfect harmony and love.
