The Purpose of Life in the Midst of Adversity

The question of the purpose of life is a universal one, and it is especially poignant for those who face physical or emotional challenges. As the Psalmist wrote, "Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me; thou wilt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me" (Psalm 138:7). This verse reminds us that even in the midst of adversity, God is present and working to bring about our good.

The question of purpose can also be a source of comfort and strength. As the apostle Paul wrote, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28). This verse reminds us that God is sovereign over all things, including our lives, and that He is working to bring about our good, even in the midst of adversity. In the midst of adversity, it is easy to lose sight of our purpose and to feel like our lives are meaningless. But this is not the case. As the Bible teaches, "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (Ephesians 2:10).
