Can I Still be Happy with a Disability?

As followers of Jesus Christ, we believe that happiness and joy are not solely dependent on our physical abilities. In fact, the Bible teaches us that our worth and value come from our relationship with God, not from our physical condition. The psalmist, who was physically impaired, wrote, "Though I cannot walk, and I am confined to a wheelchair; though half my face is paralyzed, and I cannot even smile; though I am extremely impaired, and I cannot take care of my baby; yet I will rejoice in the Lord, my Savior" (Psalm 23:4). This psalmist's joy and happiness were not diminished by his physical limitations, but rather, they were rooted in his faith and relationship with God.
