Biblical Answer

I understand that the question of why God took away your only child can be a painful and difficult one to confront. As a Christian, I want to approach this question with compassion and understanding. However, I must also emphasize that the Bible does not provide a definitive answer to this question. In fact, the Scriptures do not address the issue of why God takes away children from their parents. While we can understand that sin has consequences, we cannot assume that God is obligated to provide a reason for why He takes away a child.

It's essential to recognize that God's ways are not our ways, and His sovereignty is not limited by our understanding. He is a loving and gracious God who chooses to adopt us as His children, not because He is obligated to do so, but because He loves us. This understanding should bring us comfort and peace, even in the midst of pain and loss. As the Bible says, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). While we may not understand why God took away your child, we can trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

Ultimately, the question of why God took away your child is not the most important question. The more significant question is how you will respond to God's sovereignty and love in the midst of this pain. Will you trust in His goodness and faithfulness, even when you don't understand? Will you choose to see this experience as an opportunity to grow closer to God and to discover His purposes in your life? As the Psalmist says, "You have turned my mourning into dancing; you have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy" (Psalm 30:11). May we choose to see God's goodness and love, even in the midst of pain and loss.
