Your Question:

What's the purpose of life if I'm just going to end up in a nursing home?

Answer:

As I reflect on the purpose of life, I'm reminded of the importance of living a life that honors God. According to Scripture, our major purpose in life should be to be with Jesus, to love and serve Him, and to live a life that reflects His character. This means cultivating qualities like love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

As a pastor, I've seen many people lose their sense of purpose and meaning in life when they feel like they're just going through the motions. But when we focus on living a life that brings glory to God, we find that we have a sense of direction and purpose that goes beyond our individual circumstances. This is what gives our lives meaning, even in the face of challenges like aging or illness.

For me, as a husband and father, my purpose is to serve and love my family, and to help them grow in their faith and relationship with God. Even in a nursing home, we can still live a life that honors God and brings joy to those around us. It's not about the physical location, but about the attitude of our heart and the way we choose to live out our faith.
