I can relate to the struggles you're facing with your retirement. As I reflect on my own journey, I remember when I first started pastoring our local evangelical church. It was a challenging time, and there were moments when I felt overwhelmed and uncertain about my ability to lead the congregation. However, I turned to God for guidance and support, and He provided me with the wisdom and strength I needed to navigate those difficult times.

Another setback I recall was when my son Joshua was going through a tough phase in his teenage years. He was struggling with his identity and relationships, and it was a challenging time for our entire family. But with God's help, we were able to work through those issues together as a family, and Joshua emerged stronger and more resilient as a result. In both cases, I saw how God used those experiences to refine me and help me grow as a leader and a father.

Looking back, I realize that those setbacks could have destroyed me if I had let them control my future. But instead, I chose to see them as opportunities for growth and learning. I'm grateful for God's presence and guidance in my life, and I'm thankful that He helped me to persevere through those tough times. As I look at my life today, I'm reminded that true security and fulfillment come not from material possessions or external circumstances, but from a deep relationship with God and a sense of purpose and meaning that comes from serving Him.
