Your Question:
Is God even there?
Answer:
As I reflect on the nature of God, I'm reminded of the scriptures that speak to His omnipresence. It's clear that God is not limited by space or physical boundaries. He is present with His whole being in every part of space, as stated in Acts 17:28, "In him we live and move and have our being." This means that God's presence is not confined to a specific location, but rather He is all-encompassing and everywhere present. The idea that God is everywhere present, yet distinct from His creation, is a concept that can be difficult to grasp. An analogy that helps me understand this is the comparison of God to a sponge filled with water. Just as the water is present everywhere in the sponge, yet remains distinct from the sponge itself, God's presence is everywhere in His creation, yet He remains separate from it. This understanding helps me to see that God's presence is not limited by physical boundaries, but rather it's a spiritual reality that transcends space and time. The fact that God is a spirit, not a physical object, means that we cannot plot His location on astronomical coordinates or reach Him by traveling through space. His transcendence and spirituality allow Him to be all at every point in universal space, a concept that baffles human comprehension. Yet, as the scriptures attest, God's presence is real and all-encompassing, filling all and being in all. This understanding brings me comfort and peace, knowing that God is always present and active in my life.
