Biblical Answer

The Bible says a lot about anxiety. In fact, there are over 400 verses that address fear or anxiety. However, the Bible does not say that we should never be anxious. Instead, it says that we should not be anxious about anything, but rather trust in God. This is seen in Psalm 56:3, where the psalmist says, "When I am afraid, I will trust in you." This verse suggests that when we are afraid or anxious, we should trust in God rather than our own abilities or circumstances.

The Bible also says that anxiety can be a sign of a lack of trust in God. In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus teaches his disciples not to be anxious about their needs, but rather to trust in God's provision. He says, "Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" This verse suggests that we should not be anxious about our needs, because God is our heavenly Father and will provide for us. However, this does not mean that we should not be concerned about our needs at all. Rather, we should be concerned, but not anxious. We should trust in God's provision and care for us.

In addition to teaching us not to be anxious, the Bible also gives us practical advice on how to deal with anxiety. For example, in Psalm 57:4-5, the psalmist says, "My soul is among lions, my life among the children of men, you set a guard about me. In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you, Lord, alone make me dwell in safety." This verse suggests that when we are anxious, we should trust in God's protection and care for us. We should not be afraid, because God is with us and will protect us. By trusting in God and following his teachings, we can learn to manage our anxiety and find peace in the midst of uncertainty.
