Your Question:

Why is God allowing this to happen?

Answer:

As a pastor, I've grappled with this question many times. Why does God allow suffering to happen? The answer is not always easy to understand, but it's rooted in His sovereignty and wisdom. God is not surprised by anything that happens, and He has a plan to bring good out of even the most difficult circumstances.

It's like a play where the author has written the overall story, but the actors have some freedom to improvise within the scene. God has given us the freedom to make choices, and He allows us to experience the consequences of those choices. This doesn't mean that He's not involved or that He's not in control. Rather, He's working through our decisions and actions to bring about His ultimate purposes.

In 1 Peter 4:19, it says, "Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will do right and entrust their souls to a faithful Creator." This means that we need to trust God's wisdom, even when we don't understand what He's doing. We can't see the bigger picture, but God can. He's working all things together for our good, and He's not surprised by any of it. So, we need to have faith and trust in His sovereignty, even in the midst of suffering.
