When Everything Feels Like Too Much to Handle

Feeling overwhelmed and like everything is too much to handle is a common experience for many people. It can be caused by various factors, such as the demands of work, family, or personal responsibilities, as well as emotional struggles like anxiety, depression, or feelings of guilt or shame. In such situations, it's essential to remember that God is sovereign and in control, and He desires to help us navigate these challenges.

Prioritizing What is Important

To keep going when everything feels like it's too much to handle, we need to prioritize what is truly important, true, and good. This means saying "no" to things that are not aligned with our values and saying "yes" to things that bring us closer to God. We need to focus on our relationship with God and seek His guidance and strength. As Psalm 46:10 says, "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!" We need to slow down, take time to reflect, and seek God's presence in our lives.

Seeking Support and Community

When we feel like giving up, it's essential to seek support and community. We don't have to go through these challenges alone. We can talk to a trusted friend, family member, or mentor who can offer wise counsel and support. We can also seek out community resources, such as counseling or support groups, to help us navigate our struggles. As James 5:16 says, "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed." By seeking support and community, we can find the strength and encouragement we need to keep going when everything feels like too much to handle. Ultimately, our hope and strength come from God, and He desires to help us overcome any obstacle that comes our way. (Romans 8:28) We just need to trust in Him and seek His guidance and strength.
