Can love revive a dying flame when we're feeling tired?

The idea of love reviving a dying flame is a beautiful concept, but it's not always as simple as it sounds. When we're feeling tired, it's easy to get caught up in the idea that love is just about feelings, but as the Bible teaches, true love is about commitment and sacrifice. It's about choosing to love someone, even when the feelings aren't there. In fact, the Bible says that love is not just a feeling, but an action (1 Corinthians 13:3). It's about putting someone else's needs before our own and being willing to suffer for their sake (1 Corinthians 13:5). This kind of love is not just about romantic love, but about the love of God that we are called to demonstrate to the world (John 13:34-35).

The problem is that many people confuse romantic love with true love. They think that if they don't feel a certain way, then the love is not real. But the Bible teaches that our feelings can be deceptive and that true love is not based on how we feel, but on our actions and commitment. In fact, the Bible says that we can love someone even if we don't feel like it (Ephesians 6:7-8). This is what the Bible means by "loving your neighbor as yourself" (Mark 12:31). It's not about how we feel, but about how we choose to act. And when we choose to act with love, even when we're feeling tired, it can actually revive the dying flame of our relationship.

But here's the thing: love doesn't just happen without a heart for God that is willing to gut it out in prayer, grow through tough times, and wait for love to be resurrected. We have to go through the pain to get to the joy. If we're only in it for the happiness, then one little spark will burn the entire forest of our relationship. But if our aim is to proclaim and model God's ministry of reconciliation, our endurance will be fireproof. In other words, when we put God first and choose to love others, even when it's hard, it can actually revive the dying flame of our relationship and bring new life to our relationships. So, can love revive a dying flame when we're feeling tired? The answer is yes, but it requires a commitment to love that goes beyond just feelings. It requires a commitment to love that is based on our actions and our willingness to sacrifice for the sake of others.
