Your Question:

Is it okay to feel lost?

Answer:

Is it okay to feel lost? I've seen many people struggle with feelings of hopelessness, including some in our church community. It's not uncommon for people to feel lost and uncertain about their spiritual journey. In fact, the Bible acknowledges that we all face times of darkness and uncertainty.

As a pastor, I've learned that it's essential to distinguish between feelings and reality. Just because you feel lost, it doesn't mean that God has abandoned you. In fact, the Bible promises that God is always present and available to us. We can draw near to Him and He will draw near to us (James 4:8). It's okay to feel lost, but it's not okay to stay lost. We must be willing to seek God and investigate our emotions and actions more carefully.

It's also essential to recognize that feelings can lie. Just because you feel like you're a burden to your family or that God has abandoned you, it doesn't mean that it's true. We must be willing to take ourselves to task and examine our thoughts and emotions in light of God's Word. As Jesus said, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7-8). With God's help, we can overcome feelings of hopelessness and find our way back to Him.
