Finding the courage to keep going can be a daunting task, especially when faced with personal burdens or struggles. I've seen it in myself, my family, and our congregation at church. It's easy to feel stuck, like we're tied to the dock, unable to move forward. But I believe that's where faith comes in. We need to begin asking God to prepare our hearts for victory, and then ask Him to arrange circumstances to start us on the road to recovery.
As a pastor, I've seen the power of God's promises in Scripture. Verses like John 6:37, "Christ will receive us if we come to him," and 1 Corinthians 10:13, "God will not allow us to be tempted beyond our strength," remind us that we're not alone in our struggles. We have a loving God who wants to help us overcome our challenges. Memorizing these promises and praying them can give us the courage to keep going, even when things seem hopeless.
It's also important to surround ourselves with wise counselors, like friends, family, or a support group, who can encourage and guide us. And, of course, prayer is a crucial step in overcoming any struggle. As the Bible says, "Be anxious for nothing, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." (Philippians 4:6) By trusting in God's love and power, we can find the courage to keep going, even in the darkest of times.
