Understanding the Nature of Faith

Faith is a personal decision, an act of affirmation, and a leap into the dark. It involves risk, personal commitment, and surrender. Faith is not just a decision, but a trust in God's sovereignty and goodness. When we respond to uncertainty with faith, we are not trying to justify ourselves or rely on our own understanding. Instead, we are opening ourselves freely to the future, obediently committing to God's plan, and inwardly detaching from the world. Faith is not about being certain or having all the answers; it's about trusting in God's promises, even when we don't understand them.

Facing Fears and Uncertainties

When faced with fears and uncertainties, we must confess them as unbelief and surrender to God's sovereignty. This involves acknowledging our doubts and fears, and then choosing to trust in God's goodness and power. We must not let our fears dictate our actions or decisions, but rather, we must let faith guide us. This means being willing to take risks, make bold statements, and trust in God's timing and provision. As the Bible says, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). When we trust in God, we can experience a sense of peace and confidence, even in the midst of uncertainty.

Building Courage and Faith

To build courage and faith, we must focus on God's promises and character, rather than our own understanding or circumstances.
