Can Our Words Bring New Life to Our Relationships?

The Bible teaches that our words have the power to build up or tear down. In Proverbs 25:1, it says, "Those who speak deceptively are treacherous." On the other hand, speech that builds up comes from a godly heart and a transformed character. This highlights the importance of being mindful of the words we choose to use in our relationships. When we speak positively and constructively, we can bring new life to our relationships.

This concept is also reflected in the idea that our words can stir something inside of us. When someone's words stir something inside of us, it's because it's an internal issue that we need to own. Love owns it and goes to work on it. This means that we need to be willing to listen to others and consider their perspectives, even if they differ from our own.
