Preparing my kids for my passing is a crucial aspect of parenting, and as a pastor, I believe it's essential to instill in them a strong faith and sense of purpose. One way to do this is to involve them in charitable acts, such as choosing clothes and toys to donate to charity, and creating care packages for homeless families. This teaches them the value of giving and sacrifice, as seen in Mark 12:43-44. By doing so, we can help them understand that true obedience comes from giving willingly, not just from abundance.

As their father, I also want to make sure they have a solid foundation of faith. This is why I believe it's essential to give each of them their own Bible that they can read and understand. By seeing me read and study my Bible, they'll learn the importance of spiritual growth and development. I also want to involve them in a Bible-teaching church where they can learn from leaders who believe in the authority of Scripture. By doing so, they'll be equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate life's challenges, even after I'm gone.

Ultimately, as a parent, my goal is to train my children to be strong, independent, and critical thinkers who can make wise decisions on their own. This means giving them opportunities to take ownership of tasks and projects, and allowing them to make mistakes and learn from them. By doing so, they'll develop a strong sense of self and a deep understanding of their purpose in life. As I pray for them, I want to encourage them to discover their talents and gifts, and to use them to glorify God. This will help them build a strong Christian foundation that will last a lifetime.
