Your Question:

How do I keep going when I feel so alone?

Answer:

I can relate to feeling alone, especially when the battle against depression seems to be getting old. As a pastor, I've seen many people struggle with this feeling, and I've experienced it myself. But I want to remind you that you're not alone in this struggle. We were created to need other people, and that's exactly what we need in times like these - a compassionate reminder that we're not alone.

When I'm feeling overwhelmed, I try to remember that I'm not alone in this fight. I have my wife Susan, my son Joshua, and my daughter Rebecca who care about me and are there to support me. I also have my church family who are going through similar struggles. We can work together to walk this difficult path, sharing the load and lifting each other up. As the Bible says, "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one anotherand all the more as you see the Day approaching" (Hebrews 10:25).

It's also important to remember that we're not alone in our struggles because God is with us. Even when it feels like He's not, He is. And when we're feeling isolated and alone, we need to look to Him, not just intellectually, but with our hearts. We need to look away from ourselves and our own incompleteness and look to Jesus, who is the only one who can fill the void. As Jesus said, "Indeed the hour is coming... that you... will leave Me alone" (John 16:32), but He's not asking us to leave Him alone, He's asking us to stay with Him, to rely on Him, and to trust in His presence.
