The Feeling of Abandonment by God

It's natural to feel like we're being abandoned by God when we're going through difficult times. Our circumstances can lead us to believe that God has left us or is not present in our lives. However, this feeling is often a result of our own unbelief and lack of trust in God. When we focus on our problems and circumstances, we can become convinced that God is not working in our lives. But the truth is, God is always present and working, even when we can't see it.

The Bible teaches us that God is sovereign over all creation, and He is always seeking us, even when we're not seeking Him. When we feel abandoned by God, it's often because we're not surrendering ourselves to Him. We're holding onto our own desires and plans, and we're not trusting Him to work everything out for our good (Romans 8:28). This lack of trust can lead to feelings of isolation and loneliness, making us feel like God has abandoned us. However, this is not the truth. God is always with us, and He is always working to draw us closer to Himself.

So, what can we do when we feel abandoned by God? The first step is to recognize the things that are keeping us from God. Are we preoccupied with death or the means of suicide? Are we too busy for God, or are we putting other things ahead of Him? Until we honestly confront our reservations and surrender ourselves to God, we will not be able to move forward in our faith. We must learn to trust God and His sovereignty, even when we don't understand what He's doing. We must also learn to surrender ourselves to Him, abandoning our own desires and plans, and trusting Him to work everything out for our good. When we do this, we will begin to see God's presence and work in our lives, and we will no longer feel abandoned by Him.
