#### A Personal Experience of Disconnection

The feeling of a distant God is a common experience, even for those who have dedicated their lives to faith. As a boy, I, too, struggled to connect with God, feeling like He was far away and unreachable. It was only later, as I delved deeper into the Scriptures, that I began to understand the reasons behind this sense of disconnection.

There are several reasons why God may seem distant when we need Him most. One reason is that we often look at God from a wrong perspective. We may see Him as a distant, unapproachable figure, rather than as a loving Father who seeks us. This misconception can be due to our own misconceptions about God's nature and character. Sometimes, we may even want God to be distant, either because we are afraid of His power or because we feel unworthy of His love.

#### The Paradox of God's Nearness and Distantness

The Bible teaches that God can be both near and far at the same time. This paradox is rooted in God's nature as a person, who can be both loving and distant. Just as a father may be physically present but emotionally distant, God can be near to us in His presence but distant in His actions. This is why we may receive an answer to prayer or experience a sense of His love, yet still feel disconnected from Him. It is also why we may feel that God is absent, even when He is actively working in our lives. Ultimately, the feeling of a distant God is a complex issue that requires a deeper understanding of God's nature and character, as well as our own relationship with Him. By seeking to understand the reasons behind this paradox, we can deepen our faith and develop a more intimate relationship with God.
