Anxiety in the Life of Biblical Figures: Understanding God's Sovereignty and Trust

Biblical figures, including Jesus and Paul, demonstrate a trust in God's sovereignty over their lives, despite facing anxiety and fear. In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus teaches that worry is irrational, unproductive, and even pagan, and promises that God will supply physical needs for those who make obedient discipleship their chief concern. In Psalm 55:22, David writes, "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken." As Jesus taught, "Do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own" (Matthew 6:34).
