The Root Cause of Betrayal: A Biblical Perspective

Betrayal can be a devastating experience, leaving us feeling hurt, angry, and confused. As a Christian, it's essential to understand that betrayal is not a surprise, but rather a manifestation of the fallen nature of humanity. In Genesis 3, we see the first instance of betrayal, as Adam and Eve disobeyed God's command, leading to the downfall of humanity. This pattern of disobedience and rebellion continues to this day, as seen in the biblical account of Judas' betrayal of Jesus (Matthew 26:14-16, 47-50).

From a biblical perspective, betrayal often stems from a heart that is far from God. When we prioritize our own interests, desires, and needs above God's will, we become vulnerable to the temptations of the enemy (1 John 2:15-17).
