A Biblical Perspective on Treating LGBTQ People

Christians are called to love and befriend transgender folk, just as they are called to love all people. This means Christians should listen to people who identify as transgender or non-binary and show them God's love. However, it is essential to integrate their faith and sexual orientation, rather than embracing the preferred terminology of the LGBTQ+ movement. The Bible is clear that same-sex sexual relationships are not okay for Christians, and therefore, we should not condone or promote them.

Avoiding Judgment and Hatred

Loving people doesn't mean agreeing with all their decisions. Christians should not be judgmental and hateful of people in gay relationships. Instead, they should tell them about Jesus and show them his love. This means being a good friend, a listening ear, and a source of comfort, even if the person identifies as LGBTQ+. We should not make fun of them or avoid them, but rather, we should show them God's love and care. This approach is in line with Jesus' command to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Embracing Biblical Standards

The Bible is clear that same-sex sexual relationships are sinful, immoral, and destructive. Therefore, we should expect Christian theologians to defend biblical standards with as much vigor as non-Christian sexual pagans. This means that Christians should not promote or condone LGBTQ+ relationships, but rather, they should encourage people to follow biblical standards by denying them. This approach may seem difficult, but it is essential to stand firm on biblical principles, even if it is unpopular. By doing so, we can show people the love of God and encourage them to follow His ways.
