The Problem with Hopelessness

Hopelessness is a lethal condition that can be a result of dashed hopes and disappointments. When we experience repeated disappointments, our hope can erode, leading us to feel that hope has given us as much pain as we can handle. It makes sense to either kill it or let it die of natural causes. However, this is not a solution that offers any hope for a better future. Hopelessness can be a result of depression, where people try to kill it because it has betrayed them. In such cases, it's essential to consider God's response to hopelessness.

By doing so, we can find a sense of peace and comfort that can sustain us in times of hopelessness. As the Bible says, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).
