Your Question:

Can God really heal me?

Answer:

My friend, I can sense the desperation in your question. Can God really heal you? The answer is yes, He can. In fact, He is the divine healer. The psalmist says, "Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for you are my praise" (Psalm 30:2). God's desire is to restore health to us and heal our wounds (Jeremiah 30:17).

However, we must be careful not to have a faulty theology of suffering, like I did in the past. We must understand that God's ways are not our ways, and His timing is not our timing. Sometimes, God chooses not to heal us immediately, or at all, for His own sovereign purposes. But even in the midst of suffering, God is still working, and we can trust that He is redeeming our bodies (Romans 8:18, 23).

When praying for healing, we must pray in faith, but also in humility and dependence on God's will. We must pray that God's will be done, whether it's healing or not. We should also pray for God to be glorified in the situation, and pray out of compassion, just like Jesus did. And, as Jesus said, "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you" (John 15:7).
