I feel angry at God for this situation. But is it really anger? Or is it frustration, or resentment, or a mix of emotions? To answer this question, let's explore the characteristics of anger. Anger typically begins with a judgment about right and wrong, but it can quickly turn into a stance against God. We are angry because our rights and glory have been violated, not because God's have been. This shows that we don't trust God and becomes an opportunity to know him better. Anger is ultimately about God, and it's a shortcut that's doomed to fail.

When we feel angry at God, it's often because we're disappointed or frustrated with the circumstances of our lives. We might feel that God is not meeting our expectations or that he's not doing what we think he should do. But God's anger is not like ours. It's infused with holy purpose and is under the perfect control of limitless love. He suspends final judgment for our sake and for our glory. So, when we feel angry at God, we need to examine our motives and ask ourselves if we're truly angry about a sin that offends God and harms people, or if we're just angry about the way we're affected. If it's the latter, it's safe to eschew anger altogether.

To deal with our anger towards God, we need to let him reason with us about his love. We need to selectivity choose to trust him and not let our anger control us. We can do this by acknowledging our anger and asking God to temper it with patience and love. We can also practice speaking the truth in love and seeking to understand God's perspective on our situation. By doing so, we can grow in the knowledge of God's love and our own sin, and we can move from anger to a deeper understanding and trust of God. As the Bible says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" (Philippians 4:6).
