Your Question:
What's the right decision when I'm torn between my faith and my fear of the unknown?
Answer:
As a pastor and a man of faith, I've seen many people struggle with fear and uncertainty. When I'm torn between my faith and my fear of the unknown, I remind myself that fear is often a sign of unbelief. It's my heart saying, "Lord, I don't believe you" or "Lord, my desires want something other than what you promised." The first step in dealing with fear is to confess it as unbelief and examine Scripture to be confident in the love and faithfulness of Jesus. I also remind myself that faith is not just about receiving what I want, but about accepting what God gives and glorifying Him in all circumstances. As the Bible says, "Faith always triumphs, whether or not circumstances change" (Experiencing Faith). When I'm facing a crisis of faith, I ask myself what's keeping me from making a decision. Is it a sin, a habit, or a lack of understanding? I identify the barrier and then make a decision to move forward, trusting in God's assurance and guidance. As I make a decision, I pray and ask God to help me and guide each step I take. I remind myself that faith is a journey, not a destination. With each step, my faith grows stronger, just like my body grows stronger with each step I take when walking or running. I focus on God and trust in His love and faithfulness, even when I don't understand what's going on around me. And I know that with faith, I can overcome any obstacle and move forward in my journey with God.
