Biblical Answer

The idea that you can earn your way to heaven is a misconception that is not supported by the Bible. Jesus teaches that He is the only way to the Father, and that no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). This is reinforced by the fact that Jesus paid the price in full for our sins, and there is no other way to be saved (Romans 3:23-25, 5:8). The Bible does not teach that good deeds or works can earn us a ticket to heaven, but rather that they are a natural response to a relationship with Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:16, 1 Corinthians 3:10-15).

The idea that we can earn our way to heaven is also contradicted by the fact that the Bible teaches that salvation is a gift from God, and that we are not able to earn it through our own efforts (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 6:23). The Bible teaches that we are all sinners, and that we are unable to save ourselves (Romans 3:23, 5:12). It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we can be saved, and that we can receive the gift of eternal life (John 3:16, Romans 5:8).

The Bible teaches that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the key to salvation, and that it is through this relationship that we can experience the benefits of heaven in the present, including forgiveness, peace, and joy (Romans 5:1-2, 8:1-2). This relationship is not something that we can earn or achieve through our own efforts, but rather it is a gift from God that we can receive through faith in Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches that we are to live a life that reflects our relationship with Jesus Christ, and that we are to act in a way that is pleasing to God, but this is not a means of earning our way to heaven, but rather a natural response to our relationship with Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:16, 1 Corinthians 3:10-15).
