I. Introduction

Can I still have a sense of freedom if I'm not in a good place?

In order to answer this question, we need to consider what freedom truly means. As Christians, we understand that freedom is not a general, abstract concept, but rather a spiritual and moral one. Freedom is freedom from sin and freedom to live as God intended human beings to live.

II. The Nature of Freedom

True freedom is not simply the ability to do what we want, when we want, but rather the ability to choose among options in light of who we are. And who we are is a result of God's decision and activity. God is in control of all the circumstances that bear on our situation, and He is the one who gives us the desires and inclinations that we have. This means that our freedom is not independent of God, but rather is a gift from Him.

III. Freedom in Difficult Circumstances

Just because we may not be in a good place, it doesn't mean that we don't have the freedom to choose how we respond to our circumstances. We can still choose to focus on Jesus Christ and trust in His sovereignty, even in the midst of difficult situations. In fact, it is in these times that we are given the opportunity to exercise our faith and trust in God's goodness and wisdom. By continuing to concentrate on Jesus Christ, we can experience freedom and release, even in the midst of adversity. Our duty in service and ministry is to see the freedom and release that comes from trusting in God, even when nothing seems to be happening externally. By doing so, we can experience the true freedom that comes from living a life that is surrendered to God.
