Laziness as a Sin

The Bible does not consider laziness as a criminal offense, but rather as a self-destructive behavior. According to Proverbs 20:4, laziness leads to poverty and want. The Bible warns against being lazy, and the warnings outweigh those against other vices (Proverbs 20:4). The Bible emphasizes that hard work is intended to bring about the good life, and that laziness causes us to miss out on this good life (Proverbs 28:19).
