Your Question:
why is god allowing this to happen to me?
Answer:
As I reflect on the question of why God is allowing this to happen to me, I'm reminded of the words of Jesus, who suffered for me so that I could live. He didn't ask me to believe because He's on a divine ego trip, but because He loves me and wants me to latch on to Him in order to be saved from my sins. I must know that I need a Savior, just as He does. It's easy to become discouraged and rely on worldly opinion when things don't go as planned. But God doesn't expect me to endure on my own. He wants me to focus on Him, to recognize the nature of demanding my right to myself, and to be willing for Him to change my nature. When I'm willing to submit to Him, His re-creating forces will begin to work, and He'll help me take the right road. I think of the story of Cain, who was full of self-pity, and God's words to him: "Sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must master it." I realize that my own principle of self is crouching at my door, wanting to devour me. But God asks me to deny myself, to lose myself to find myself. If I do this, He'll guide me and help me make the right decisions, even when I don't understand why things are happening the way they are.
